ACWA works towards improving the quality of services to children and young people through research, advocacy and training activities. This site provides news, information and details of their training programmes.

The Clearinghouse collects and shares information about the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This site contains research publications, newsletters, resource guides, databases and links.

 

Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault                        (Australian Institute of Family Studies)

The Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault aims to improve access to current information and resources in order to assist those committed to working against sexual assault. ACSSA will help to support and develop strategies that aim to prevent, respond to and ultimately reduce the incidence of this crime.

National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (NAPCAN)  

The Association develops resources and campaigns for the prevention of child abuse. Their site provides information about their work and provides details of resources and how to purchase them.

 

Child Protection Guidelines

The NSW Interagency Guidelines for Child Protection Intervention 2000 edition, revised in 2005, is the key document for providing practical guidance on interagency cooperation in child protection.

This site contains information about sexual assault, child abuse, sexual harassment and family violence for Children & Schools, Family & Friends, Survivors and Workers in Victoria, Australia.

The Trauma Center         
The Trauma Center, based in Boston (Massachusetts, USA), is headed up by Professor Bessel van der Kolk, MD. It is the largest private mental health treatment centre in Massachusetts and provides a range of services to traumatised children and adults and their families. They also do research and offer training and consultation. The site has information about assessment, treatment and group programs. It has a self help links page for clients and professionals. The links are divided into specific problem areas (eg. Eating disorders, anxiety, anger). This site is easy to negotiate and has extensive links to other sites.

David Baldwin’s Trauma Information
This site contains information about trauma – lots of articles, resources, booklists, disaster handouts and links to other good sites.
